Lot 846: Mid-Century Modern Style Slate Top Occasional Table
A mid-20th century occasional or side table featuring a minimalist aesthetic. The square top is designed with rounded corners and is constructed from a thick slab of grey textured stone, likely slate. This top is secured to the underlying frame by four visible metal bolts. The base is made from a dark-stained hardwood and consists of four square-section legs that are tapered and slightly splayed. There are no visible maker marks on the piece. The item currently bears a Liskeard Auction Rooms lot tag and a handwritten adhesive label.
Condition report:
Poor to fair condition. The stone top has a prominent crack running from one edge towards the centre. The surface of the top is heavily weathered with visible pitting, scratches, and white mineral-like deposits throughout. The wooden base shows minor scuffs and surface wear consistent with age and use.
