Lot 1057: A Pair of Small Jacobean Style Oak Two-Drawer Chests
A pair of small two-drawer chests in the Jacobean style, constructed from solid oak with a dark-stained finish. Each chest features two full-width drawers with thick plank-style fronts. The hardware consists of a single centrally-mounted iron ring pull on each drawer. The units are supported on four stout, turned baluster-form feet. The drawer interiors are constructed of solid secondary timber, stained to match the primary wood. The tops are formed from heavy planks with a moulded edge. The design is characteristic of provincial or country-made furniture. No maker marks or stamps are visible; however, an auction lot sticker numbered 1057 is present on the top surface.
