Lot 309: An Assortment of Ceramics and Household Items including Wood and Sons Platters and a Roger Lascelles Mantel Clock
An assortment of ceramics and household items featuring two Wood and Sons earthenware platters in the Powder Blue pattern. The platters are decorated with a mottled powder blue border, a fine gilt rim, and a dotted inner border on a white ground. Each bears a blue underglaze backstamp for Woods Ware, with the names Ralph 1750 and Enoch 1784, Wood and Sons England, and the pattern name Powder Blue. Included is a small bulbous white ceramic vase featuring a circular metallic inset depicting two birds amongst cherry blossoms in copper and gold tones on a textured grey ground. The lot further contains a Roger Lascelles London quartz mantel clock with an arched cream-coloured body and a white dial with Roman numerals and black spade hands. Also present is a novelty ceramic drinking vessel shaped as a boot with hand-painted blue stripes and buckle details, a large white earthenware or ironstone deep mixing bowl, a small white rectangular ceramic dish, a ruby red glass cup with a clear glass stem and base, and a textured clear glass circular plate. The lot is completed by a modern plastic utility bottle with a blue screw-cap and various small miscellaneous items.
