Lot 472: A collection of silver-plated ware, a War of 1812 commemorative plate, and household textiles including Fryetts Little Beach Huts fabric
A group of silver-plated items comprising a large rectangular twin-handled gallery tray with a pierced geometric border and ornate scrolling handles, the centre heavily engraved with scrolling foliage and flowers; a three-light candelabrum with scrolling arms and matching foliate-decorated base and sconces; and a circular bowl with engraved foliate decoration to the exterior. Included is a circular metal commemorative dish for the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 (1812-2012), the rim engraved BICENTENNIAL WAR of 1812 and 1812-2012, with a central star containing U.S.D. 1812. The textiles include two pieces of tapestry-woven fabric in the Little Beach Huts pattern by Fryetts, featuring sailboats and lighthouses in a red, white, and blue palette, a blue textured throw with a chevron pattern, and a beige herringbone weave throw with fringed edges. The tray bears a Liskeard Auction Rooms lot label for lot 472 and a green tag numbered 5766.
