Lot 479: A Collection of English Pewter Tankards and Graduated Brass Spirit Measures
A group of metalware consisting of three pewter tankards and five graduated brass spirit measures. The pewter items include a large baluster-shaped tankard with a double-scroll handle and flared foot, which bears the base mark for Crown and Rose, London, featuring a crown over rose motif and the words Cast Pewter, Made in England. Also present is a cylindrical pewter tankard with a squared D-handle and two horizontal raised bands, and a mid-sized baluster-form tankard with a scroll handle. The five brass liquid measures are of traditional graduated sizes and baluster form, each featuring two raised horizontal bands and a loop handle. All items are of cast construction.
