Lot 483: Two early 20th-century items comprising a quartersawn oak gallery tray and a circular copper hot water bottle
This lot consists of an octagonal serving tray and a circular copper hot water bottle. The tray is constructed from quartersawn oak, showing prominent medullary ray fleck graining. It features a raised metal gallery and integrated twin handles, likely silver-plated or nickel-plated, which are attached via spherical spacers. A central octagonal metal plaque is inset into the wooden surface and is currently unengraved. The tray is supported by four spherical metal feet on the underside. The circular copper hot water bottle is of domed form with three concentric structural rings to the top surface. It is fitted with a central brass screw-in stopper with a folding ring handle. The top of the stopper is embossed with the functional instruction FILL TO TOP.
