Lot 494: A Collection of Blue and White Porcelain Figurines
A collection of glazed porcelain figurines and figure groups, decorated in a traditional underglaze blue and white palette with overglaze gilt highlights. The pieces depict characters in 18th-century Rococo-style attire, including gentlemen in embroidered coats and breeches and ladies in voluminous gowns decorated with floral sprigs and patterned borders. The group includes several individual standing figurines and two figure groups featuring couples in various courtly poses. No maker’s marks, factory stamps, or decorator initials are visible on the exterior surfaces. One figurine bears a modern adhesive lot tag from Liskeard Auction Rooms, lot number 494.
