Lot 532: A Collection of British Brewery and Mineral Water Bottles
This collection consists of multiple vintage and antique bottles and stoneware vessels, primarily originating from British mineral water and brewing manufacturers. The stoneware items include a cream-glazed cylindrical bottle with horizontal ribbing bearing the printed mark J. Aspinall and Co. Huddersfield and a two-tone salt-glazed bottle stamped Registered R. White London. Also included is a miniature two-tone stoneware souvenir flagon with a small handle and cork stopper featuring the text A Wee Deoch an Doris from Dunoon. The group features several other plain stoneware bottles in cream and tan glazes, a small brown-glazed cylindrical jar, and a larger jar fitted with a wide cork stopper bearing a contemporary auction lot sticker for Liskeard Auction Rooms. The glass items comprise a clear glass Codd-neck bottle with an internal marble stopper and three dark or clear glass bottles with paper labels. One clear bottle is labelled for Tango Sparkling Bitter Lemon drink, while the dark glass bottles include examples for Silver Jubilee Ale and a Celebration ale.
