Lot 541: Vintage Alvey Snapper Reel Model 525/C12/7
A vintage Australian side-cast fishing reel manufactured by Alvey. This snapper reel features a dark-coloured spool, likely composed of Bakelite or a similar composite material, paired with a stainless steel backplate and mounting bracket. The metal bracket is incised with the text MADE IN AUSTRALIA and the model number 525/C12/7. A foil label remains on the backplate, depicting a fish and the words ALVEY SNAPPER REEL. The front of the reel is equipped with a two-handled winding arm featuring a black spherical knob and a star drag system. Mechanical controls include switches for ratchet on/off and drag on/off, with corresponding stamped lettering on the backplate. The reel includes a stainless steel wire line guide and is currently wound with monofilament fishing line.
