Lot 556: A Vintage Craven A Cigarettes Circular Vitreous Enamel Advertising Sign
A mid-20th century circular vitreous enamel advertising sign for Craven A cigarettes. The sign features a design of concentric circles in red, orange, and yellow on a yellow ground. A central white horizontal bar with a black border contains the brand name CRAVEN A in red block lettering. The top section of the yellow circle is inscribed with the word SMOKE in black, while the bottom section reads WILL NOT AFFECT YOUR THROAT in black. The sign is constructed of vitreous enamel on a heavy-gauge steel backing. It includes several pre-drilled holes for mounting purposes. An auction lot label for Liskeard Auction Rooms, Lot 556, is attached to the lower-left edge.
