Lot 587: A Collection of Decorative Objects including a Wedgwood Jasperware Trinket Box, Carved Stone Figurines, and Vintage Ephemera
An assortment of decorative items including a heart-shaped Wedgwood Jasperware lidded trinket box. The box is finished in a pale blue dip with applied white bas-relief neoclassical figures to the lid and floral sprigging to the borders. The base is impressed with the marks WEDGWOOD, MADE IN ENGLAND, and the numeral 1950. The lot also contains a miniature tea service on an ornate circular stand, decorated in black and gold with vignettes of figures and red floral accents. Included are two carved stone figurines: an elephant with a raised trunk in a mottled grey mineral, and a seated camel in a translucent banded stone in shades of cream and pale green. The collection is rounded out by a complete original edition of the Daily Express newspaper dated 29 August 1956, featuring various period headlines.
