Lot 649: A Trio of British Ceramics Including Wedgwood Wild Strawberry Bud Vase and Copeland Spode Coronation Flask
This lot comprises three ceramic items of British manufacture. The first is a Wedgwood bone china bud vase of baluster form featuring the Wild Strawberry pattern. The vessel is decorated with transfer-printed designs of strawberry fruit, green leaves, and delicate pink blossoms, finished with a hand-applied gilded rim. The base bears the stylized W logo above the text Wedgwood, Wild Strawberry, Bone China, and Made in England, alongside an impressed mark for 357. The second item is a commemorative glazed earthenware flask produced by Copeland Spode for the coronation of King George V and Queen Mary on June 22nd, 1911. The body is finished in a cobalt blue glaze with white sprigged relief decoration depicting the monarchs’ portraits within flags, the royal crown, and floral emblems. The neck is inscribed with coronation details and the date. The underside features the printed Copeland late Spode mark and impressed marks including Copeland and 11. It retains a cork stopper. The third item is a rounded earthenware teapot finished in a solid orange glaze. The white lid is decorated with a black and gold-tone floral transfer pattern in a mid-century style. No factory marks are visible on the teapot.
