Lot 656: A Collection of Königszelt Bayern Porcelain Collector Plates from the Sulamith's Liebeslied Series
A collection of decorative porcelain collector plates, primarily from the series titled Sulamith’s Liebeslied (Sulamith’s Love Song) produced by the manufacturer Königszelt Bayern. The plates feature transfer-printed illustrations based on original artworks by the German artist Sulamith Wülfing, depicting ethereal and romantic scenes in soft, muted colours. Each Wülfing plate is finished with a decorative blue and gilt patterned border. The collection includes individual titles such as Die Musik, Das Gelöbnis, Die Gabe, and Der Mittelpunkt. One additional plate in the group features a naturalistic depiction of two Border Collies in a landscape setting. The reverse of the Sulamith Wülfing plates carries the Königszelt Bayern manufacturer’s mark, the series title, individual plate titles in German, and the designation Erste Ausgabe (First Issue). They are inscribed with individual limited edition numbers and Bradex identification numbers, including 22-K46-3.1, 22-K46-3.2, 22-K46-3.4, and 22-K46-3.6. Copyright dates ranging from 1982 to 1984 are present on the reverse.
