Lot 911: Antique Singer Model 28K Hand-Crank Sewing Machine with Bentwood Case and Key
An antique Singer Model 28K manual hand-crank sewing machine, featuring a black-finished cast-iron body mounted on a rectangular wooden base. The machine is equipped with a spoked handwheel and a side-mounted manual crank mechanism with a turned wooden handle. The Singer manufacturer name is present in gilt lettering on both the machine arm and the front of the accompanying bentwood wooden carry case. A small metal key is secured to the case handle with a green cord. The machine features a sliding metal access plate consistent with vibrating shuttle models. Two paper labels are adhered to the base plate, one of which contains the handwritten text £19.84. A Liskeard Auction Rooms lot label, numbered 911, is attached to the carry case.
