Lot 960: An Art Deco carved oak bow-fronted sideboard
This Art Deco oak sideboard, dating from circa 1930, features a central bow-fronted section containing three graduated drawers, flanked by two side cupboards. The piece is designed with rounded waterfall edges and is supported by two heavy, stepped, and fluted block feet. The decorative scheme includes deep-relief stylized floral and scrollwork carvings located along the top frieze of the drawer section and on the central panels of the cupboard doors. The drawers are equipped with cast metal knob handles, and the cupboard doors are fitted with pendant pulls. The sideboard is constructed from oak with a prominent open grain visible on the side panels. The drawer interiors are finished in a reddish-brown colour. Contemporary auction house lot tags from Liskeard Auction Rooms are present on the upper left corner. No original manufacturer marks or stamps are visible on the exterior or interior surfaces.
