Harris (Mid-20th Century). A mid-century maritime study of fishing boats in a harbour at sunset. The work is executed in oil on canvas-textured board, depicting several vessels silhouetted against a graduated orange and amber sky. The composition is centred on the setting sun, with textured horizontal brushwork used to create a shimmering reflection on the water’s surface. Signed Harris vertically to the lower right corner. The painting is presented in a dark-stained wooden frame with a gilded inner slip. The frame bears an auction label from Liskeard Auction Rooms for Lot 993.
