Lot 32: An Edwardian Arts and Crafts Stained Hardwood Mirrored Wardrobe
An Edwardian single-piece wardrobe constructed from light-toned stained hardwood, showing Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau design influences. The central door contains a large rectangular inset mirror plate and is fitted with a metal drop handle and a corresponding keyhole with a metal escutcheon. The door is flanked by two fixed side panels. Each side panel features an upper decorative fretwork section characterized by stylized teardrop or spade-shaped cutouts set over vertical wooden laths. Below this fretwork is a horizontal band of reeded moulding, with the lower portions of the panels featuring vertical fluted detailing. The piece is surmounted by a prominent projecting moulded cornice. A small white rectangular adhesive auction tag with the handwritten numbers 1020 is visible on the left side of the frame.
