Lot 122: Antique British Brass Fireplace Fender in the Victorian Style
An antique brass fireplace fender, likely dating from the late Victorian or Edwardian period. The fender features a three-sided design with a central balustrade section containing three bulbous, turned balusters. The railing is constructed from square-section brass bars, with the end sections featuring vertical vertical slats. The corner uprights are topped with simple, flattened spherical finials. The item is constructed from cast and assembled brass components. The base consists of a wide, flat brass plate with a raised outer edge. A white rectangular auction house label from Liskeard Auction Rooms identifies the piece as Lot 122, and a pink circular sticker with the handwritten number 32 is also present on the railing. No original manufacturer marks or stamps are visible on the surfaces of the item.
