Lot 131: A Pair of Reclaimed Buff Terracotta Chimney Pots
A pair of reclaimed architectural chimney pots of differing forms, constructed from buff-coloured terracotta. The larger pot features a wide flared rim above a single raised decorative band and has a body that tapers towards the base. The narrower pot is of a more slender form with multiple raised roll bands to the upper section and a slightly flared base. This second pot bears an impressed maker’s mark reading POULTONS and the number 85, identifying it as a product of the British manufacturer Poulton. Both pieces exhibit a typical form used in Victorian and early 20th-century residential architecture.
