Lot 167: A Large Vintage Slatted Wood and Strap-Iron Garden Bench in the Victorian Style
A large vintage garden or park bench of a design commonly seen in the Victorian and Edwardian periods. The bench features a heavy-duty frame constructed from three curved strap-iron supports that form the legs and the structural backbone for the seat and backrest. The seating surface and backrest are composed of multiple horizontal wooden slats, secured to the metal frame with round-headed bolts or rivets. A modern white adhesive auction label from Liskeard Auction Rooms (Lot 167) is present on one of the slats. No historical maker’s marks, stamps, or signatures were identified on the frame or woodwork.
