Lot 172: Large Rectangular Grey Speckled Stone Slab, Possibly Moon White Granite
This lot comprises one large, rectangular stone slab intended for architectural or decorative use. The stone is grey in colour and features a consistent granular, salt and pepper speckled pattern across the surface, with a flat and unpolished finish. While an attached handwritten paper label identifies the item as a REAL MARBLE SLAB, the visual characteristics and texture are more consistent with granite, specifically resembling varieties such as Moon White. The slab carries a handwritten label transcribed as 1 x REAL MARBLE SLAB and includes the numbers 195/10. A lot sticker from Giffard Auction Rooms is affixed to the edge, identifying the piece as Lot 172. The edges of the slab show a variety of finishes, including straight-cut sections and more rugged, chipped, or unfinished profiles typical of salvaged material.
