A collection of antique vanity and dressing table items comprising two ceramic sets and a substantial group of ebony wood items. The first ceramic set is attributed to Losolware (Keeling and Co., Burslem) and features transfer-printed and hand-enamelled designs of exotic birds on branches with large pink blossoms and gilt rims; this set includes an octagonal dressing table tray, a lidded cylindrical powder box, a candlestick with a flared base, and a ring stand with a central spike. The second ceramic set features transfer-printed rural landscape scenes depicting cottages and includes multiple items such as candlesticks, a globular lidded jar, lidded trinket boxes, and a ring stand with a tree-form centre. The ebony wood set, characteristic of the late Victorian or Edwardian period, includes a rectangular tray with chamfered corners and a raised gallery, a circular hand mirror with a tapered handle, a selection of hair and clothes brushes with natural bristles, a pair of articulated glove stretchers, a tiered manicure stand holding various tools including a shoehorn and button hook, a small turned bowl, and further grooming implements. The ceramics are attributed to Staffordshire manufacture.
