Lot 452: A Clarice Cliff Trio and Three Vintage Royal Grafton Tea Cups and Saucers
This lot comprises a collection of vintage British tea ware, featuring a three-piece service by Clarice Cliff and three tea cup and saucer sets by Royal Grafton. The Clarice Cliff trio consists of a tea cup, saucer, and side plate in cream-glazed earthenware. Each piece is designed with a scalloped rim and an embossed vertical ribbed border, decorated with small polychrome floral transfers depicting roses and mixed blossoms. The base of the cup bears the green printed marks for Clarice Cliff, Newport Pottery Co, England, and Registration Number 840076, along with a hand-painted pink mark. The collection also includes three fine bone china tea cups with matching saucers attributed to Royal Grafton. These sets feature solid matte-finished exteriors and matching coloured saucers in shades of maroon, green, and dark blue. The white interiors are decorated with large polychrome transfers; the maroon cup features an apple and berries, the green cup features a pear and grapes, and the dark blue cup features a large pink rose and mixed floral blossoms. All sets are finished with gilded rims, handles, and foot rims.
