Lot 481: A Collection of Eight Geological Specimens Including Fossilised Bone, Petrified Wood and Desert Rose Gypsum
A collection of eight assorted geological specimens including mineral formations and fossilised remains. The lot features a large desert rose gypsum cluster composed of interlocking bladed selenite crystals in a characteristic rose habit with a sandy-tan colour. Also included is a cylindrical fragment of petrified bone or possibly wood with a dark brown, textured exterior resembling bark and visible internal layering. This specimen bears an adhesive paper label from Liskeard Auction Rooms, marked Lot 481. The collection further contains a cream-coloured botryoidal mineral specimen with a globular or grape-like surface texture and a fossilised colonial coral fragment showing a distinct honeycomb-patterned surface. Four additional smaller specimens complete the lot, consisting of a smaller botryoidal cluster, a crystalline specimen with vuggy cavities, and two irregular mineral fragments.
