Lot 502: Two vintage studio glass paperweights including a cobalt blue bullicante example
A lot consisting of two vintage studio glass paperweights of differing forms. The first is an ovoid piece featuring a controlled bubble (bullicante) design, with a central dome of cobalt blue glass surrounded by a structured grid of air bubbles suspended within clear glass. The second is a smaller spherical paperweight containing a scrambled interior of multi-coloured glass fragments in shades of orange, white, yellow, and blue, all encased in clear glass. Both items have flattened, ground, and polished bases. No maker’s marks, etched signatures, or factory labels are visible on the glass. One piece retains a modern auction sticker for Liskeard Auction Rooms, Lot 502. The techniques and styles are characteristic of mid-century studio glass production from regions such as Murano, Italy.
