Lot 706: A Mid-20th Century Woven Fibre Lidded Storage Chest
A rectangular storage chest or laundry basket of mid-20th century manufacture, constructed from woven fibre over a wooden frame, in a style attributed to makers such as Lloyd Loom or Redmon. The exterior is finished in a bright pink paint which appears to be a later application. The chest features a hinged lid with a central integrated woven handle and stands on four short, rounded feet. The interior is lined with a cream-coloured woven fabric. Two adhesive auction labels are present on the exterior from Liskeard Auction Rooms, marked as Lot 706 and Lot 904. The chest contains several miscellaneous items, including a bar of Palmolive soap, a blue plastic soap case, and assorted linens.
