Lot 712: An Antique Domed Bentwood Wooden Equipment Case
This lot comprises an antique domed wooden case, of the type traditionally used for protecting early mechanical devices such as cylinder phonographs or portable sewing machines. The construction features a dark-stained wood with a distinctive arched bentwood cover resting on a rectangular base. A single metal handle with a textured grip is mounted to the top, secured by metal brackets. While the form strongly resembles cases produced by companies such as Edison for their cylinder record players, or the Davis Sewing Machine Company, no original manufacturer marks are visible on the exterior.
