Lot 726: A Pair of Vintage Orange Polypropylene Swivel Task Chairs
A pair of industrial-style swivel task chairs. The chairs feature ergonomic, single-piece molded seat shells in a bright orange polypropylene. Each shell is mounted onto a black-finished metal pedestal base with a four-star leg configuration and curved feet. One chair shell retains a small rectangular label with a blue border containing handwritten characters that appear to read S 766 or S 966. An auction lot sticker for Liskeard Auction Rooms, Lot 726, is also present. No definitive manufacturer or designer marks are visible. The design is characteristic of late 20th-century British educational and office furniture, produced in the manner of Robin Day for Hille.
