Lot 742: George III Style Mahogany Demi-Lune Fold-Over Card Table
A George III style mahogany demi-lune fold-over card table, likely dating from the late 18th or early 19th century. The semi-circular top consists of two hinged layers designed to fold out to create a circular playing surface. The top surface is finished with mahogany veneer featuring cross-banded borders and double-line light-wood stringing. The curved frieze is decorated with inlaid panels defined by vertical stringing. The table is supported by four square tapered legs. Identifying marks include a white adhesive label for Lot 742 from Liskeard Auction Rooms and a secondary paper tag featuring the handwritten numerals 3028. No original maker’s marks or stamps are visible.
