Lot 756: A Pair of Ercol Tudor Revival Style Wingback Armchairs
A pair of wingback armchairs in the 20th-century Tudor Revival style, attributed to Ercol. Each chair is constructed with a dark-stained wooden frame featuring turned front supports, H-pattern stretchers, and a decoratively carved arcaded frieze positioned below the seat rail. The chairs have been re-upholstered in a textured, ribbed reddish-pink fabric with contrasting green cord piping. Both chairs feature a button-back design, with one chair having buttons in a matching pink fabric and the other featuring contrasting dark green buttons. One armchair bears a handwritten white paper label on the arm which reads 810 2 New upholstery Ercol Armchairs. Adjacent to this is a printed auction sticker for Liskeard Auction Rooms identifying the lot as number 756.
