Lot 826: Two antique metalware items: a pierced brass fireplace fender and a coach horn
This lot comprises two separate antique metalware objects. The first is a fireplace fender featuring a pierced brass front and side panels with a repeating geometric scrollwork pattern. The fender is constructed with an internal iron base plate designed for hearth placement. The second item is a straight-bodied brass coach horn, constructed from multiple sections with a flared bell. The bell section exhibits faint decorative scrollwork engraving and retains an attached red braided cord with a tassel. A modern inventory sticker marked 5 766 is present on the side of the fender, and an auction lot sticker marked 826 is attached to the body of the horn. No maker marks or hallmarks were identified on either piece.
