Lot 865: A Mid-Century Modern Style Towel Rail and a Vintage Valet Stand
This lot comprises two separate freestanding wooden furniture pieces. The first is a towel rail in the mid-century modern style, constructed from light-coloured wood, possibly beech or elm, with a natural finish. Its design features three rounded horizontal rungs supported by shaped and tapered uprights, which are joined by a central stretcher and terminate in splayed feet. The second item is a vintage valet stand or gentleman’s butler, made from dark-stained wood. The stand includes an integrated coat hanger top above a small recessed accessory tray and a horizontal trouser bar, all supported on a frame with an H-shaped base. A white adhesive tag from Liskeard Auction Rooms (Lot 865) is attached to the towel rail, and both items bear small pink circular inventory stickers marked 32.
