Lot 879: A rustic pine bedside chest with Greek key detail
A rustic pine bedside chest or pedestal cupboard of rectangular form, dating from the late 20th century. The unit comprises a single open shelf niche above a base drawer, which is fitted with two turned wooden knob handles. A decorative carved Greek key border detail is featured along the front edge of the carcass, separating the shelf and the drawer. The piece is constructed from pine with a warm stained and waxed finish that highlights the natural grain and knots. The drawer is built with pine sides and a light-coloured composite or thin plywood base panel. The top surface displays a white auction label for Liskeard Auction Rooms, Lot 879, and a small pink sticker handwritten with the number 8. No maker’s marks were identified.
