Lot 281: A Collection of Assorted Cut Glass Tableware and Decorative Ceramics
This lot features a diverse selection of glassware and decorative ceramic items. The collection includes a large, deep circular cut glass bowl decorated with a pattern of multi-pointed starbursts and cross-hatched diamond cutting. Also present is a circular glass bowl featuring a silver-plated (EPNS) rim, the body decorated with geometric panels containing hobnail cutting and circular lens motifs, with a radial sunburst design to the base. The glassware further comprises a pair of small stemmed glasses, suitable for port or sherry, featuring star and diamond cut bowls, faceted hexagonal stems, and star-cut circular feet. An Art Deco style pressed glass bowl is included, characterised by a ribbed body and a stepped, scalloped rim with a subtle yellowish tint. The ceramic components consist of a white commemorative mug featuring a transfer-printed illustration of an 1840 Road-Steamer with a red-lined rim, and a small decorative bowl or ashtray finished in a traditional Imari style with a cobalt blue ground, orange floral motifs, and gilt detailing.
