Lot 440: A Collection of Decorative Items Including a Vintage Capodimonte "Jalopy", a Splendex Mantel Clock and Glazed Ceramics
An assortment of decorative items and household ceramics. The collection includes a mid-20th-century electronic mantel clock by Splendex, housed in a rectangular wooden case with gilt panels featuring a black Greek key meander design. The circular brass-tone dial has black Roman numeral hour markers and baton hands. The face is marked Splendex electronic and Made in GDR.
Ceramic items include a glazed figurine of a vintage open-top motor car in green, white, and pink with gilt highlights, and a variety of plates such as a cabinet plate decorated with a blackberry spray on a shaded green ground, a red transfer-printed floral plate with a scalloped rim, and a white porcelain plate painted with purple and yellow pansies. The lot also contains small floral-patterned porcelain saucers and an earthenware potpourri bowl containing dried botanicals, a promotional restaurant coaster, and a miniature triangular porcelain ashtray.
Glassware includes a heavy square-moulded emerald green glass ashtray with rounded corners and four cigarette rests.
