Lot 466: A Set of Nine Teacups, Seven Saucers, Five Side Plates, and a Large Cake Plate with Yellow Gilded Borders
In the style of the Medici pattern, this partial porcelain tea service features a white ground decorated with a broad yellow border and gilded classical motifs including acanthus leaves, palmettes, and scrolling foliate patterns. The collection consists of nine teacups with scroll handles, seven saucers, five side plates, and one large serving plate. All plates and saucers feature scalloped, moulded edges with gilded rims. The decoration is applied through transfer-printing with hand-gilded highlights. No factory marks or backstamps are visible on the undersides of the items. A handwritten vendor’s label accompanying the lot identifies the service as vintage Czech porcelain.
