Lot 525: A Collection of Silver-Plated and Pewter Wares including an Art Deco Desk Calendar and Wine Funnel
A mixed lot consisting of various silver-plated and pewter decorative items. The collection includes a silver-plated two-part wine funnel featuring a detachable strainer with a suspension chain. There is a silver-plated sugar shaker of baluster form with a pierced domed cover on a circular pedestal foot. An Art Deco style silver-plated perpetual desk calendar is included, bearing an engraved presentation inscription that reads TO BERT FROM ALL HOSPITAL STAFF FRIDAY 21 APRIL. The lot also contains a silver-plated elongated Art Deco pedestal dish with an angular swing handle and stepped base. A pewter beaker with relief-decorated foliate scrolls features German script around the rim reading Glücks- u. Freundschafts-Becher and a central monogram G U F. Also present is a heavy faceted glass capstan-style inkwell with a hinged metal cover, an ornate silver-plated rectangular photograph frame with embossed floral borders featuring roses, a novelty miniature gilt-metal sauce boat on a fixed stand with a small spoon, a pair of silver-plated sugar tongs, a small spoon, and a small cylindrical metal case.
