A hardwood side chair constructed in the traditional Ming style, featuring a high back with a curved top rail and a wide central splat. The splat is decorated with a carved circular medallion depicting a stylized Shou or longevity character. The piece has a rectangular panelled seat set within a mitred frame, supported by square-section legs united by four peripheral stretchers including a front footrest. The chair is crafted from a dense, reddish-brown stained hardwood, possibly teak or rosewood. It is accompanied by a contemporary loose seat cushion upholstered in a white fabric with a blue and grey hexagonal pattern. The back of the chair splat bears an auction house label for Liskeard Auction Rooms, Lot 754, and a handwritten lot tag numbered 2865.
