Lot 767: A Trio of Vintage Travel Luggage Comprising a Large Slatted Trunk and Two Suitcases
A collection of three vintage travel pieces dating from the early to mid-20th century, comprising a large travel trunk and two suitcases. The largest item is a travel trunk featuring protective slats, metal corner guards, and central locking hardware. One suitcase is constructed from a textured fabric or canvas and retains several original maritime travel labels, including a rectangular sticker printed with BAGGAGE ROOM (WANTED ON VOYAGE) and a circular blue and white sticker for CHANDRIS LINES marked ALEXANDRIA. The second suitcase is finished in a light-coloured treated canvas with reinforced metal corners and a leather handle; it bears the handwritten name J. Booth on the lid. All items feature metal latches and handles. No manufacturer marks are clearly legible on the fittings or locks. Several items bear small auction-style stickers with numbers including 716.
