Lot 784: Mid-Century Modern Bow-Front Sideboard with Marble-Effect Laminate Panels
A British mid-century modern bow-fronted sideboard, dating to circa 1960. The piece is finished in highly figured wood veneers with a high-gloss lacquer. The central section features a fall-front cupboard decorated with a grey and white marble-effect laminate panel, positioned above a single wide drawer. This drawer is divided into three internal compartments and lined with original red baize for cutlery storage. The central unit is flanked by two curved cupboards, each containing an internal shelf. A decorative perforated brass-tone metal gallery strip runs along the upper apron. The sideboard is supported by four tapered wooden legs ending in brass-tone ferrules. It is fitted with simple metal bow handles to the cupboards and drawers.
