Lot 26: A Collection of Vintage and Antique Engineering and Tradesman Hand Tools
This lot comprises an assortment of vintage and antique hand tools, primarily for engineering, plumbing, and trade use. The collection includes several adjustable pipe wrenches, featuring Footprint pattern designs and a coach wrench. Also included are multiple pairs of shears and tin snips of various sizes, alongside large professional tailoring or upholstery shears. The group contains gas pliers, carpenter’s pincers, and hand tools with turned wooden handles, such as screwdrivers and a bradawl. The tools are constructed from forged steel and cast iron. One pair of tin snips bears an incised mark on the pivot with the characters KNIP legible, possibly for the manufacturer Knipex. These tool patterns are typical of British industrial and domestic workshops from the late 19th to the mid-20th century.
