Lot 264: A Collection of Woodworking Hand Tools and Accessories Including Marples and Footprint Examples
An assortment of woodworking hand tools and workshop accessories contained within an open-top wooden tool chest. The collection comprises various planes, including a large wooden jointer plane with a tote handle, a wooden smoothing plane, a blue-finished metal bench plane, and a small metal block plane. Cutting tools include a variety of chisels with turned wooden and modern plastic handles, a large horse rasp, and several metal files. Saws are represented by a modern crosscut hand saw with a plastic handle and a vintage wooden-handled crosscut saw. Marking and measuring equipment includes a wooden marking gauge and a try square with a wooden stock and brass face. Additional items include a small cross-peen hammer, various screwdrivers, auger bits, and a mitre guide. Identification marks include a Marples brand label on one chisel handle and the Footprint name on a red plastic chisel handle.
