Lot 409: An Italian composite resin figurine of a rustic boy, signed Antonio
A decorative figurine depicting a young boy in rustic attire, wearing a weathered wide-brimmed straw hat, an open-necked shirt with rolled sleeves, and knee-length trousers. The figure is barefoot, depicted carrying a basket or bag tucked under his right arm, and stands upon a textured base designed to resemble natural ground with small pebbles. The figurine is crafted from cold-cast resin or composite material with a matte, cream-coloured finish to imitate bisque porcelain. It is mounted on a circular, stepped wooden plinth with a polished mahogany-style finish. An incised signature for Antonio is located on the upper surface of the base near the figure’s feet. The underside of the wooden plinth features a handwritten script letter M in black ink.
