Lot 509: A Trio of Beswick Ware Lettuce and Tomato Leaf Moulded Dishes
A group of three mid-20th century earthenware serving dishes from the lettuce and tomato range produced by Beswick Ware, England. The collection includes a large deep bowl moulded in relief to resemble a cabbage leaf, decorated with three applied orange tomatoes and green foliage to the interior. Also included is a circular dish divided into three sections by moulded veins, featuring a central decorative handle in the form of three tomatoes and pale green leaves. The final piece is a small kidney-shaped side dish with a textured leaf design and two orange tomatoes with dark green foliage. Each piece is finished in vibrant green glazes with hand-painted accents. The underside of the kidney-shaped dish bears the printed Beswick Ware cursive backstamp, MADE IN ENGLAND, alongside a hand-painted number 689c.
