Lot 556: Late 19th or Early 20th Century Open-Face Pocket Watch with 24-Hour Dial
An unbranded open-face pocket watch featuring a white enamel dial with large black Arabic numerals for 1-12 and an outer track of red Arabic numerals for 24-hour time (13-24). The dial includes a sunken sub-seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position. The watch is housed in a white base metal case, likely nickel-plated brass, with a hinged back and an inner cuvette. The cuvette is engraved with the technical inscriptions Remontoir, Ancre, and 15 Rubis, signifying a stem-winding movement with a 15-jewel lever escapement. The timepiece is fitted with black-finished moon or spade style hands and a suspension ring at the pendant.
