Lot 605: A Trio of T.G. Green and Co Ltd Blue Willow Pattern Ceramic Tableware Items
A three-piece set of transfer-printed earthenware comprising a cream jug and a pair of salt and pepper shakers. The set is decorated in the traditional Blue Willow pattern, featuring Chinoiserie landscapes with pagodas, bridges, and willow trees in underglaze blue. The cream jug has a globular body with a flared rim and a loop handle, decorated with a wide floral and geometric border around the neck. The salt and pepper shakers are of a tapered conical form with a central decorative band. The base of the cream jug bears a blue transfer-printed mark for T.G. Green and Co Ltd, Church Gresley, England, featuring a central castle motif. A small hand-painted green mark is also present on the base. One shaker retains a red plastic stopper marked for Regina Industries Ltd, Stoke-on-Trent.
