Lot 615: A Set of Six Silver-Plated Gemstone Condiment Spoons and Two Vintage Commercial Rubber Stamps
A set of six silver-plated condiment or coffee spoons together with two antique-style office rubber stamps. The spoons feature square-ended bowls and twisted wire stems, each finished with a different polished semi-precious gemstone cabochon terminal secured in a wire-cage mount. Gemstones include varieties such as amethyst, rose quartz, carnelian, and green hardstones. The spoons are reminiscent of designs by Barasch Sylmar, though marks to the reverse of the bowls are worn and illegible. The set is housed in its original fitted presentation box with a purple velvet-effect interior. The two rubber stamps feature turned wooden handles and wooden mounting blocks. One stamp is marked With Thanks on the block and features a Received With Thanks rubber face. The second stamp is a commercial address stamp for Edward Chew, 62 The Pavement, Clapham Common, S.W.4, listed as a specialist in motorcycle tyres with a Battersea telephone number.
