Lot 630: A Group of Imperial Japanese Army Second World War Field Equipment
This lot comprises a collection of military equipment issued to the Imperial Japanese Army during the mid-20th century. The central item is a Type 92 steel combat helmet, known as a Tetsubo, featuring the standard embossed five-pointed IJA star to the front. The helmet is accompanied by its detached and fragmented three-pad leather liner system and remnants of the original chinstrap or liner ties. Also included is a pair of military puttees, or kyahan, constructed from heavy olive-drab wool fabric and remains in a rolled state with integrated cotton tying tapes. The group is completed by a small fabric item appearing to be a field dressing or individual bandage. A modern adhesive auction label is present on the front of the helmet shell reading Liskeard Auction Rooms, Lot 630. No original manufacturer stamps or Kanji inscriptions are clearly visible on the items in their current state.
