Lot 662: A Set of Asprey and Sons Burgundy Leather Travel and Vanity Accessories
An assortment of burgundy cross-grain leather travel and vanity accessories by the London maker Asprey and Sons. Several pieces bear the gold-stamped inscription ASPREY and SONS, MAKERS, 166 BOND ST. The collection includes a large folding writing folio featuring an internal sleeve containing a matching leather-clad pencil with white metal tip and end cap. Also included is a three-panel folding vanity mirror with leather frames and backing, and a tri-fold sewing companion known as a housewife. The interior of the sewing companion contains a yellow flannel needle leaf with two paper needle packets for W. Boulton and Sons and Oulton Sons gold eyed needles, along with various threads. A small coin purse with a metal frame and twin black bead kiss-lock closure is present, alongside two matching leather slip cases of varying sizes. The items are finished with gold-stamped linear borders.
