Lot 746: A KIG Remo Navy Blue Folk-Style Waistcoat with Gilt Flower Appliques
A mid-to-late 20th-century sleeveless, open-front waistcoat produced by KIG Remo. The garment is crafted from a dark navy blue heavy-weight wool-blend felt fabric and is finished with a smooth dark synthetic lining. The front panels are heavily decorated with numerous gilt-toned metal flower appliqués in two distinct styles: a solid multi-petalled bloom and an open-work wire-style flower. The front edges and hem are accented with a vertical striped ribbon trim in red, cream, and gold, with a short section of multi-coloured patterned woven trim at the back neck. Further embellishments include a gilt-toned curb-link chain attached near the left pocket, terminating in a circular medallion, and a small gold metallic embroidered motif on the lower left front. The waistcoat features two small welt pockets on the lower front and is designed to fasten with a series of small, gilt-toned metal ball buttons. An interior fabric label at the neck is marked KJG REMO.
